collaborative movie library

Last wednesday at Rakhi I went to my cousin sister for the Raksha-Bandhan. There I saw that Jijaji had a huge collectiion of movies (cds/dvds). So an idea (re)emerged on my mind. Why can't we have a collaborative movie library. I'll work same as netflix/70mm, but we won't have any storage. All the movies will with users, and we will give them platform to share their collection with other's and make use of other's collection.
I have many dvd's of many movies, but they are allmost of no use to me as I have seen them. I want to see other movies, which today I need to buy or download. Here in this library I'll share my collection and whenever somebody will borrow my dvd, I'll get some points. Then I can borrow any movie from those points.
The collaborative library will provide 2 things.
  1. The platform to share the collection with library and search browse the full library. Choice of vast viriety of movies.
  2. The logistics (that's the part I don't have idea with): the pickup and drop at door. So that you wont have to go anywhere. For this part I'll need to see how 70mm do it. They have local guys going to doorstep of each customer to give/take movies.
Revenue model: subscription basis. 70mm has plan like Rs 50 permonth. Our's should be like 10-15 Rs per month. If the model is in Bangalore, and library has around 10K active users, the revenue is 1lac. per month, the main expenditure will be pickup boys and server bandwidth.
The idea can be generalized to books too. I find no difficulty in that once the basic platform is in place.
